After experiencing a “downsizing” in 1994, Arnie Boldt went through his own career transition, exploring many options before founding Arnold-Smith Associates with his wife and business partner Gail Smith Boldt. Over his 20 years as a Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW) and a Job & Career Transition Coach (JCTC), Arnie has seen many ups and downs in the job market and has helped candidates from all professions and at all levels.
Arnie is the Managing Partner of Arnold-Smith Associates, a career transition consulting firm based in suburban Rochester, New York. In addition to authoring two books (“No-Nonsense Job Interviews” and “Resumes for the Rest of Us,”Career Press) and co-authoring two others (“No-Nonsense Resumes” and “No-Nonsense Cover Letters,”Career Press), he has contributed to over 40 titles relating to resume writing and career transition, most notably the “Knock ‘Em Dead”series by best-selling author Martin Yate. He has been nominated five times for the prestigious TORI, a global award recognizing excellence in the resume writing field.
Since January of 2009, Arnie has consulted with the Career Management Center at the University of Rochester’s (NY)Simon Business School on resume and cover letter development for MBA and MS students. He has been quoted in the online edition of the Fresno Bee, and The National Business Employment Weekly, with radio appearances on WROC (Rochester, NY) and WBAI(NYC).
Arnie prides himself on his experience working with the widest array of job seekers, including skilled trades people, new graduates, engineers, educators, and top level executives. A native of LeRoy, New York, Arnie is a graduate of Clarkson University and makes his home in a suburb of Rochester (NY) with his wife, Gail, and their Chihuahuas, Countess Electra and Duchess Windy.
