Ms. Parker offers more than 28 years of combined experience promoting personal and professional development for both state and federal institutions. Upon her retirement from the U.S. Army as a First Sergeant (1SG), she worked with the U.S. Department of Labor as both an Employment Service Specialist and Disabled Veteran Outreach Program Specialist. In these roles, she facilitated the Transition Assistance Program (TAP) Brief to transitioning service members and provided training on résumé writing techniques to diverse audiences and career professionals.
As owner of Parker-CPRW, Lisa provides a variety of career development related writing services for clients around the world, spanning a variety of career fields in both the private sector and government organizations. For four years, she served as an evaluator of professionals pursuing the CPRW credential on the Professional Association of Résumé Writers and Career Coaches (PARW-CC) CPRW Certification Committee.
Among other contributions, she received the International Association of Workforce Professional’s Writer Award in 2007 and later, assisted Bedford/St. Martin’s in efforts to edit the job search and résumé writing sections of the “The Business Writer’s Handbook” and the “Handbook of Technical Writing,” authored by Gerald J. Alred, Charles T. Brusaw and Walter E. Oliu. She served as a contributing author to recent publications including the latest Résumés for Dummies, Modernize your Résumé, and Modernize Your Job Search Letters. In 2011, facilitated a résumé writing Webinar with Donald Trump Jr.
