I bet you didn’t know that all Facebook groups are set to show you ONLY highlights of posts and not ALL posts!
We don’t want you to miss out on something important, so we’ve put together a 70-second video showing you how you can change from highlights to all posts (and back again).
Here are some written instructions of an alternate way to do this in the Facebook community:
In-application notifications are those you see under the notifications button (bell) in the top right corner (see screen shot below). These are also pop-up notifications you may see on your phone if you use the Facebook app.
Again, by default, you will receive notification of new group posts within the Facebook app for highlighted posts only. Highlighted posts are suggested posts and posts of members you have friended.
To adjust this setting, follow these instructions.
- Click on the down arrow next to the Joined button in the top left corner and click on Manage notifications or In-app notifications.
- Select “All posts” or select a “Member Posts or Comments” from the pull-down menu.
- Click the “Save Settings” button.
Optional: Receive an email notification when there is a new group post
NOTE: These instructions will turn on email notifications for ALL of your groups, not just CDI. You can change the notification level individually for your Facebook groups by clicking on the down arrow next to the Joined button and clicking on notifications.
Facebook allows you to setup email notifications for Facebook groups. By default, email notifications are turned off.
- Click on the button below to go directly to your Facebook Notification settings or click on your profile image in the top right corner, click on Settings & Privacy and click on Notifications.
- Under What Notifications You Receive, select Groups. Toggle the switch next to Email.
- NOTE: Not everyone has this capability in Facebook at this time.
