Scams are everywhere today and we’re increasingly seeing job seekers being burned and even our own good name being linked to scams through deep fake, identity theft, and money snatches.
The sad reality is that if you want something, or have something others may want, you’re a target for a scam. I know my inboxes are pinging constantly with issues and queries enough to make your head spin. Every time I think I can’t be shocked further, the bar gets raised!
I’ve been there myself. Earlier this year, I reported a scam ring to the FBI after discovering I was being falsely listed as the paid U.S. resume writer in a scheme targeting overseas job seekers.
In it I’ve provided a lot of valuable, shareable resources and a call out to job seekers and career industry pros to take steps to educate and protect.
